Step free access at Littleborough Station
Date published: 01 September 2011
Groundwork started on the step free access (ramps) at Littleborough Station with a geotechnical survey involving, amongst other things, drilling a shaft into the embankment.
Councillor Peter Evans said: "Everyone will warmly welcome this improvement - especially travellers with heavy cases. It will finally allow those with wheelchairs to access the station I trust.
"We now have to convince the bus operators to have a bit of joined-up-thinking!
"The achievements at Littleborough Station are a credit to everyone who has played a part."

Now all that's needed is to make sure trains carry a ramp every journey, or there is one at the station!
I've been to Smithybridge and not been able to get my wife on the train because there was no ramp available!
